Tree walks

As part of the citizen-led urban tree festival NERALU, tree walks will be held across various locations in Bangalore. With the aim of increasing awareness amongst citizens, the tree walks will chronicle interesting botanical, medicinal, historical and mythological facts about trees. Leading naturalists, ornithologists , ecologists and avid tree enthusiasts will conduct these walks.

The tree festival held last year in Cubbon Park saw a footfall of around 4,000 people and was very well received. With this year’s tree walks spread across Bengaluru, interested citizens can benefit by heading to their nearest location. Tree walks will be held in M N Krishna Rao Park, Lalbagh, Indian Institute of Science, Jayanagar, H.S.R.layout and various other locations. It promises to bring together tree-enthusiasts and citizens in a bid to showcase and reclaim the glory of the “Garden City”.
